It's better to buy a safe, reliable model, and then properly maintain it. Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner’s manual, take care of minor problems as they arise, and keep it clean. These are the 10 cars, SUVs, minivans, and pickup trucks that Consumer Reports survey respondents most often reported reaching more than 200,000 miles, drawn from the survey's responses.
