Beware of toxic school supplies, consumer group warns
NJ.com - 8/10/2018 - Alison Pries - Spiral notebooks, binders, crayons ... asbestos, lead, benzene. A consumer group is warning parents that toxins may be lurking in those school supplies you're buying. The United States Public Interest Research Group sent 27 school supplies to an independent laboratory for testing. The items consisted of various brands of crayons, three-ring binders, water bottles, markers, glue, lunchboxes, spiral notebooks and rulers.
