Detroit Free Press - 3/18/2017 - Susan Timpor - Digging through the mail after returning from a weekend trip in early March, Kenneth Bluhm spotted envelopes from the Internal Revenue Service and the Michigan Department of Treasury. His first thought, not surprisingly, was: Is he facing an audit? But no, that wasn't the case. He and his wife had received a much-dreaded letter involving potential ID theft during tax season. "I had notices from both the IRS and the State of Michigan that said, basically, your tax returns have been filed and we want to know if it's you," said Bluhm, director of financial accounting for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.
